Function Health is seeking an experienced and visionary Medical Director (Physician) to lead its expanding clinical operations in Canada. The Medical Director will serve as the senior clinical leader for Function Health Canada, overseeing clinical governance, compliance, and the delivery of safe, high-quality virtual care services. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams—including legal, product, regulatory, and operations—to design and execute scalable care models and expand Function’s footprint across Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Clinical Leadership & Oversight:

• Deliver exceptional virtual medical care, including telehealth consultations, diagnostic interpretation, and communication of results to members.

• Establish and monitor clinical quality standards, KPIs, and patient satisfaction metrics to ensure excellence across all services.

• Maintain clinical integrity through strong decision-making and adherence to best medical practices.

2. Provider Network Development:

• Recruit, onboard, and mentor physicians and healthcare providers across Canada.

• Build and manage a scalable network of clinicians supporting synchronous and asynchronous care delivery.

• Develop and oversee continuing education and performance improvement initiatives.

3. Clinical Governance & Regulatory Compliance:

• Serve as the primary regulatory and clinical advisor for Canadian operations.

• Ensure full compliance with provincial and federal regulations, telemedicine standards, and professional licensing requirements.

• Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to maintain up-to-date clinical policies and ensure risk mitigation.

4. Operational Strategy & Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Partner with executive leadership and operations teams to design and implement SOPs, clinical workflows, and escalation processes.

• Support the integration of new diagnostic modalities such as genomics and advanced lab testing into the Function Health ecosystem.

• Contribute to strategic planning and long-term expansion initiatives in the Canadian market.

5. Stakeholder Engagement & Representation:

• Represent Function Health in external engagements, advisory panels, and professional forums.

• Advocate for proactive, technology-driven healthcare delivery within Canada’s evolving medical landscape.

• Build strong relationships with regulatory bodies, partners, and media as a thought leader in preventive health.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Licensed Physician in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) or another provincial body (Ontario license required).

• Minimum 10 years of clinical experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or Medical Director role.

• Proven experience in scaling telehealth or virtual care programs, preferably within growth-stage healthcare organizations.

• Expertise in diagnostic modalities including MRI imaging and comprehensive laboratory testing.

• Strong understanding of Canadian healthcare laws and privacy regulations (PIPEDA).

• Technically proficient with telehealth and EHR platforms (Zoom, Slack, etc.).

• Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
