We are seeking a Materials Engineering Student, for our Canadian Industrial Division to work in both our District office located in Edmonton and our Fabrication Facility, located in Nisku, AB. We are looking for a student available for 8 months starting in January 2023. As a Materials Engineering Student, you will contribute to our team by:

Responsibilities

• Review industry and project-specific documents, and summarize technical requirements to support material procurement and receipt inspection activities.
• Build expertise and (under supervision) work towards providing technical answers to various departments.
• Attend and participate in PCL site internal audits as-required.
• Support weld monitoring activities in the Nisku Fabrication Facility as-required.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail.
• Good work ethic and a passion to learn.
• Strong communication skills (both written and oral).
• Willingness (and ability) to work occasionally in Nisku as-required.
• Being a Materials Engineering or Materials Engineering Technology student is preferred, but students from other disciplines may be suitable if they have some experience with materials manufacture and processing, materials specifications, welding, auditing, and/or materials selection.
• Successful applicants must be able to provide their own CSA approved steel toed boots and be willing to take and pass a Pre-Access Alcohol & Drug Test.
• Public transportation is not available for this position so successful applicant must have their own vehicle or access to reliable transportation.
