Description:

Alectra Utilities is seeking a strategic and data-driven Supervisor, Material Planning & Procurement to oversee and enhance material planning and procurement processes. This role will ensure optimal material availability for construction projects while maintaining cost-effectiveness and high service levels.

This is a full-time, hybrid position (35 hours per week), offering flexibility and opportunities for collaboration in a dynamic and inclusive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Material Planning & Procurement

  • Develop and implement a Material Planning & Scheduling Strategy to ensure timely material availability.

  • Conduct research on key equipment availability and market trends.

  • Monitor inventory levels and optimize stock management for efficiency.

  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely fulfillment and resolve supply chain issues.

  • Provide data-driven insights through advanced Excel reporting and analysis.

Stakeholder & Team Leadership

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and suppliers.

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team supporting procurement and planning functions.

  • Evaluate performance, provide training, and support professional development.

  • Represent management in union-related grievance resolutions.

Process Improvement & Compliance

  • Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization to enhance efficiency.

  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, legal, and company policies.

  • Manage procurement-related tasks such as inventory adjustments, safety stock, and supplier negotiations.

  • Participate in and lead departmental projects and initiatives to improve operations.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Certifications (Preferred): CSCMP designation, APICS, or SCMA enrollment.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 5 years in inventory and procurement management.

    • Strong background in data analysis, reporting, and material planning.

    • Experience in Material Planning & Expediting (preferred).

    • Experience in a unionized utility environment (a plus).

  • Skills:

    • Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analytics.

    • Strong problem-solving, leadership, and organizational skills.

    • Ability to manage multiple projects within tight deadlines.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder engagement.

    • Valid Class “G” driver’s license required.
