Description:
Carta is building the next-generation ERP system for private markets, serving venture capital, private equity, and private credit. As a Senior Software Engineer I on the Financial Reporting team, you will develop scalable and reliable systems that empower Carta’s internal reporting specialists and clients with accurate, timely, and flexible financial reporting. You will contribute to a distributed system supporting fund administration, accounting, investment management, automation, and AI-enabled reporting capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain financial reporting systems and features.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to plan, design, and iterate on reporting tools.
Build scalable and reliable systems to support time-sensitive reporting workflows.
Innovate AI-enabled reporting capabilities and document extraction tools.
Own projects end-to-end—from initial design to production rollout.
Work across engineering teams to ensure system correctness, maintainability, and performance.
Contribute to both greenfield and legacy system development.
Qualifications:
Several years of professional software engineering experience.
Strong proficiency with Python.
Experience with (or willingness to learn): Django, JavaScript/React, TypeScript, Postgres, Kafka, gRPC.
Ability to thrive in ambiguity and collaborate effectively across teams.
Experience designing and implementing maintainable and scalable systems.
