Market Development Coordinator

 

Description:

As the Market Development Coordinator, you are responsible for carrying out Tourism Nova Scotia’s (TNS) business objectives by supporting the Market Development team in the administration of, but not limited to, familiarization(FAM) tours/press trips, partnership programs, development of tools and resources (including printed/digital materials, presentations, website content and asset management), program evaluation, and budgeting.

 

 

The Market Development Coordinator provides project management support for Market Development activities and programs. The work of the incumbent is carried out in a fast-paced, client-focused environment, with a diverse range of contacts, various market conditions, changing business policies and emerging trends. The coordinator develops program guidelines, prepares and delivers presentations, meets with tourism industry partners, organizes information utilizing spreadsheets and a CRM (Customer Relations Management) system, and leads program evaluation to support TNS’s business-to-business Market Development strategy.

 

 

This position reports to the Manager, Market Development.

Primary Accountabilities

 

 

  • Coordinates and implements Familiarization (FAM) tour and press trip programs in collaboration with the Market Development team including developing guidelines, preparing customized itineraries, procurement of products and services, developing and tracking budgets and administering program evaluation and reports. Represents Tourism Nova Scotia as tour host (group and individuals) as required.
  • Maintains records of all market development budget areas including accounts payable and receivable.
  • Administers, coordinates, and implements activities related to Market Development partnership programs – including providing advice and assistance to travel trade/travel media clients and tourism industry partners, developing program guidelines and applications, developing marketing and promotional materials, developing and delivering presentations, maintaining program records, and coordinating program evaluation and preparation of final program reports.
  • Leads planning and support for a range of Market Development activities related to program workshops, webinars, events, and marketplaces. Responsibilities include development and monitoring of timelines and budgets, coordinating the development of displays and other marketing materials, negotiating and contracting of services, providing verbal and written communications with partners, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Administration of the Market Development CRM (Customer Relations Management) system.
  • Administration of the TNS content bank, currently housed in Simpleview, including uploading and tagging photos and videos, as well as adhering to permission guidelines when distributing content to partners.
