People Corporation is growing and we are looking for an individual to join our Group Retirement Solutions team as a Managing Consultant. We are adding a Managing Consultant to our growing Group Retirement Solutions team in Toronto to continue to drive our rapid growth and provide exceptional support to our clients.

You will support business growth and client retention through your knowledge of group retirement solutions and your ability to build strong client relationships. You should be committed to providing a positive memorable customer service and excited to be a part of growing and dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain relationships and deliver pro-active consulting services to an assigned block of clients including responding to general and technical questions regarding plan design, legislative requirements and a good working knowledge of investments, governance and taxation
  • Maintain high client retention rate through the development of strong relationships and providing excellent client service and solutions
  • Able to research answers and provide guidance to clients where needed
  • Participate in finalist meetings to support the new business acquisition process
  • Implement and provide on-going servicing of GRS clients
  • Expand and maintain existing block of business and present solutions to clients
  • Take part in transitioning new business acquisitions to the ongoing management service model
  • Assist in preparing meeting materials for clients and following up with comprehensive meeting minutes and the execution of action items
  • Develop and maintain a strong governance model for retirement clients
  • Prioritize workflow with competing client deliverables
  • Work closely and in coordination with other team members to provide exceptional service and solutions for clients
  • Strategize, coordinate and/or develop & deliver member education materials and presentations
  • Develop/approve employee communication for plan sponsors to communicate changes to their employees
  • Research, write, deliver, and support the Financial Wellness solution for plan sponsors and plan members
  • Lead & contribute to ad hoc projects to enhance client experience
  • Provide expertise and support within the team and with partner firms to meet overall objectives
  • Assist in educating and training team members towards building an overall stronger team
  • Develop and maintain professional and technical knowledge and industry trends by attending education workshops and keep up to date with publications and the competitive landscape

Preferred Experience & Skill Set:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the retirement or pension industry with proven ability to build strong business relationships ideally in client facing and advisory position
  • You are solutions oriented and proactively identify business solutions for complex needs and issues
  • Exceptional business and financial acumen
  • Professionalism in internal and external communications
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, written and presentation skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Outstanding team player but able to work independently to find solutions
  • Undergraduate degree in business or a related field
  • RPA, CEBS designation considered and asset
  • Life licensed, or willingness to complete
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Proficiency in French is an asset
  • A willingness to have fun with the team, be adaptive to change, a desire for new challenges in a growth-oriented organization, and a passion for the client experience is mandatory!
