Manager, Digital Enablement

 

Description:

The Manager Digital Enablement is accountable for the development, implementation, measurement, and improvement of the procedures, protocols, records, and performance of the Industry Solutions (IS) Digital Enablement (DE) portfolio that supports all activities within the IS business unit and in alignment with Industry Solutions' strategic goals. The Manager reports to the Director - Office of Shared Services (OSS) and is an advisor to the Industry Solutions senior leadership team.

As the leader of this portfolio the Manager will:

  • Build a team to own & oversee the delivery & optimization of the digital tools used by IS staff members
  • Develop & manage the IS digital workplace technologies strategy & road map
  • Collaborate in the implementation of critical institution-wide digital tools such as CRM, LMS, e-Commerce, Financial ERP)
  • Select and manage Information Technology contractors & vendors supporting digital enablement projects
  • Consult with IS staff & our colleagues across NAIT around business processes, pain points, and use cases, learning enough details to develop a "system view"

 

The above activities have a strong connection with NAIT Information & Technology Services (ITS) and Finance departments, and it is expected that the Manager will be one of Industry Solutions' primary liaisons with these departments on responsibilities associated with this portfolio. The Manager will action and resolve matters associated with the portfolio and will ensure the delivery of the portfolio in line with NAIT policies associated with operations, capital projects, supply chain, and other related matters. The Manager demonstrates the following competencies: ensures accountability, collaborates, instills trust, organizational savvy, and manages complexity.

Performance of the portfolio will be measured through the following main parameters:

  • Developing actionable strategies and plans for the portfolio
  • Investing in relationships with NAIT-wide stakeholders and ensuring stakeholder buy-in and support on all projects
  • Ensuring compliance with NAIT policies that are owned by various NAIT departments
  • Developing a communication strategy that informs stakeholders across NAIT on portfolio activities

 

Further, the Manager will have the following accountabilities:

  • Supervision and management of the DE team, growing it from the ground up over the next one-to-two years
  • Ownership of Change Management around digital technology adoption
  • Recognition of opportunities for improvement & innovation, and leading the execution thereof: gather business requirements, document use cases, identify digital solutions, and oversee the implementation.
  • Institutional service - representing Industry Solutions on various NAIT committees and working groups
  • Representation of NAIT and Industry Solutions on various industry-relevant task groups, working groups or associations
