Description:

Deloitte Canada is seeking a Manager – IT Audit and Assurance to join its Risk Advisory practice in Calgary. The role focuses on overseeing and executing General Information Technology Control (GITC) audits, third-party assurance reporting (SOC 1, SOC 2, SOC 3), and other specialized IT advisory mandates for both public and private clients.

The successful candidate will lead project teams, manage client relationships, ensure quality in audit execution, and provide actionable insights that enhance operational efficiency, compliance, and risk control across client organizations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute IT assurance engagements including GITC audits and SOC 1/SOC 2/SOC 3 reporting.

  • Conduct IT internal audits, providing analyses of internal controls, performance, and operational efficiency.

  • Manage IT advisory projects, including internal controls certification for Canadian and U.S.-listed companies.

  • Assess and test automated and manual business process controls, ensuring compliance and process optimization.

  • Plan project steps, prepare audit planning memos and budgets, and assign responsibilities to team members.

  • Review audit workpapers for quality, completeness, and compliance with standards.

  • Collaborate with clients to identify issues, define root causes, and provide practical recommendations.

  • Prepare detailed reports and communications for internal and external stakeholders.


About the Team:

Deloitte’s IT Audit & Assurance team helps organizations strengthen governance, mitigate technology risks, and improve operational performance. The group provides risk and control services that address IT systems, business processes, and third-party relationships, ensuring compliance with regulatory and marketplace demands.


Qualifications:

Required:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in IT audit, assurance, or risk management.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.

  • Strong understanding of internal controls, IT systems, and audit methodologies.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

Preferred:

  • Professional certifications such as CISA, CPA, or CIA (or willingness to obtain).

  • Prior experience working with Big 4 firms or in large-scale audit environments.

  • Knowledge of SAP, Oracle Financials, PeopleSoft, and operating systems such as Windows and Unix.

  • Understanding of Oracle and SQL databases and cloud computing environments.

  • Experience auditing financial institutions is considered an asset.
