Fidelity Clearing Canada (FCC), a subsidiary of Fidelity Canada, is the leading independent clearing broker and custodian in the Canadian market. FCC provides trade execution, clearing, custody, and back-office support services to Canadian-based brokerage firms and the Canadian divisions of U.S.-based firms.
The company is currently seeking a Workforce and Capacity Planning Manager to join its Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) group within the Finance Division. This newly created role will be pivotal in ensuring the business operates with agility and efficiency by strategically aligning resources where they are most needed. Reporting directly to the Director, Finance, the successful candidate will lead capacity planning initiatives, forecast demand and productivity, and develop data-driven models to optimize operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement both short-term and long-term demand and capacity forecasting models to support operational planning.
Design transformative forecasting models to predict transaction volumes, requests, and workloads across multiple business lines.
Create and enhance employee effectiveness and productivity models that directly feed into capacity planning.
Maintain and update forecasts on a rolling 24-month basis, with high-frequency updates (weekly, monthly).
Apply statistical models to test forecasting assumptions and ensure accuracy.
Lead annual peak-period capacity planning processes across operational teams.
Monitor departmental performance, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements.
Collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify trends and patterns.
Design and deliver impactful reports and dashboards using tools such as Power BI and PowerPoint.
Present findings and strategic recommendations to senior leaders on a monthly basis.
Collaborate with executives and operational leaders to drive capacity allocation strategies and firm-wide initiatives.
Support additional organizational projects including entity-level programs such as reservist capacity planning.
Required Qualifications:
At least 5 years of relevant experience in workforce planning, capacity management, forecasting, or data analytics.
Strong background in financial services, brokerage, or clearing firm environments (preferred).
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint (mandatory).
Proficiency with SQL, Python, Power BI, or similar analytical tools (strong asset).
Experience applying predictive/statistical modeling for business problem solving.
Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to transform data into actionable insights.
Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively influence senior stakeholders.
Knowledge of Oracle Business Intelligence, Business Objects, or MS Access considered an asset.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage complex projects with a customer-focused approach.
Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to build relationships and foster collaboration.
