Description:
Deloitte Canada is seeking a Manager, M&A Tax to join its highly dynamic and collaborative M&A Tax team. This role is ideal for an experienced tax professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, challenging environment and who wants to take the lead on complex tax projects associated with business transactions.
As a Manager in the M&A Tax practice, you will work with clients on a wide range of corporate transactions including acquisitions, divestments, recapitalizations, financings, privatizations, IPOs, and equity capital raisings. You will be responsible for leading due diligence assignments, providing tax structuring advice, and assisting in the design of tax-efficient transaction steps for both private equity and strategic buyers and sellers. Your role will also involve analyzing transaction documents from a tax perspective, building financial models, and guiding teams to deliver exceptional client service.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead tax-related projects associated with mergers, acquisitions, divestments, and corporate transactions.
Conduct tax due diligence and provide structuring advice to ensure tax efficiency in deal execution.
Build and review financial models and transaction documents from a tax standpoint.
Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously, meeting deadlines and ensuring high-quality outcomes.
Identify potential risks and opportunities, developing practical tax solutions for clients.
Oversee engagement economics, manage client expectations, and provide strong leadership to project teams.
Collaborate with tax professionals, accountants, and lawyers within Deloitte to deliver comprehensive solutions.
Requirements:
Manager-level experience in a Canadian tax practice within a professional services or law firm.
Minimum 4 years of relevant experience, ideally with specific M&A tax exposure.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Confidence in unstructured and fast-paced environments.
Proven track record of identifying issues, developing solutions, and leading client engagements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated leadership abilities.
Compensation & Benefits:
The role offers a competitive base salary between $84,000 and $140,000 per year with eligibility for performance-based bonuses. Deloitte’s Total Rewards Package includes:
