Description:

JPdL, one of Canada’s leading event and conference planning firms since 1982, is seeking a Financial Controller (Contrôleur(e) Financier) to join its Montreal office. This is a strategic and versatile role that combines comprehensive financial management with oversight of human resources functions. Reporting directly to the President and supervising a team of 5, the Financial Controller will ensure the financial integrity, compliance, and sustainable growth of the organization, while also contributing to employee relations, payroll, and benefits administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage full financial operations including reporting, compliance, and analysis.

  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

  • Lead budget planning, cash flow management, and financial forecasting.

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and HR legislation.

  • Supervise HR activities such as talent management, payroll, benefits administration, and employee relations.

  • Support business strategy with financial insights and contribute to organizational decision-making.

  • Lead and mentor a team of 5 professionals.

  • Collaborate with leadership to foster a positive and productive workplace culture.

Candidate Profile:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Commerce. CPA designation required. HR-related training is an asset.

  • Experience: At least 7 years in a senior financial management role, with 2+ years in leadership. Strong experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and treasury management.

  • Skills: Excellent analytical and organizational skills, ability to simplify complex financial information for diverse stakeholders, and strong leadership capabilities. Proactive, rigorous, and adaptable with high attention to detail.

  • Languages: Fully bilingual in French and English (spoken and written).

  • Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge of SAGE (ACCPAC) and Salesforce considered an asset.
