As a key member of our Maintenance department, the Maintenance Technician plays a key role in ensuring a smooth, safe, and well-maintained environment for all visitors, clients, and team members. Here's what you'll be doing
You will help keep our dealership and facilities running smoothly by completing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks. You will be responsible for supporting day-to-day maintenance operations, assisting specialized trades where required, and ensuring our spaces stay clean, safe, and functional. This role is pivotal in maintaining an organized and professional environment, ensuring smooth operations within our dealership.
Key Responsibilities
- General Building Maintenance:
- Comfortable working with power tools, saws, drills, power snakes etc.
- General knowledge of construction and building practices.
- Working with lumber, drywall, basic masonry, millwork, doors and trim.
- General repair or maintenance on overhead doors, greasing ect.
- Plumbing & Drain Maintenance:
- Small plumbing repairs, faucets, drains.
- Removal of detailing sludge build up and drain clearing.
- Electrical & Lighting:
- Small electrical repairs, breakers, switches, plugs, light fixtures, ballasts.
- HVAC Support:
- Filter changes on HVAC mechanical equipment and light duty maintenance.
- Trades & Vendor Support:
- Working with and assisting specialized trades we hire: e.g HVAC or Plumbers.
- Grounds & Seasonal Maintenance:
- Landscaping use of lawn mowers and trimmers.
- Snow plowing and or shovelling walkways.
- Warehouse & Equipment Support:
- General cleaning where required in warehouse location.
- Use of Garbage bin compactor equipment.
- Delivery of bins for pick and return above and below grade with tractor.
- Repair and assembly of basic Air-line hoses, connections and reels.
- Office Setup & Moves:
- Assembly and disassembly of office furniture, shelving.
- Moving of office furniture and shelving.
You Need These Qualifications
- Previous experience in a maintenance technician, handyman, or building maintenance role.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of the importance of maintaining a safe and professional environment for both internal and external customers.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- A friendly, professional demeanor with a customer-first attitude.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Positive attitude and a willingness to take initiative.
- A valid Driver’s License is a must.
- Willingness, on rare occasion, to work on a Saturday or off regular work hours.
- Use of a personal cell phone may be required with consideration for compensation.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
