The company is on an ambitious mission to double its business by 2027 and seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to join its North York team. In this critical role, you will ensure operational excellence by performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities for various food production machinery and systems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Uphold and demonstrate Riverside Natural Food’s Core Values in daily work.

  • Comply with Health & Safety and Food Safety regulations, maintaining high standards at all times.

  • Attend breakdown calls and independently troubleshoot both electrical and mechanical equipment issues.

  • Identify recurring issues, escalate to the Maintenance Supervisor, and contribute to long-term solutions.

  • Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on a wide range of food manufacturing equipment, including mixers, slab forming machines, horizontal and vertical wrappers, robotic systems, tunnel ovens, case packers, and conveyors.

  • Conduct machine setup, changeovers, overhauls, and small fabrication or repair tasks as required.

  • Provide technical advice to optimize Preventive Maintenance processes.

  • Collaborate with contractors and ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, including parts usage, work performed, and performance logs.

  • Participate in cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reliability.

  • Ensure the highest level of housekeeping, cleanliness, and safety in all work areas.


Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance or a similar technical role.

  • Certified Millwright Mechanic (NOC 7311), Red Seal, or Provincial Electrician Ticket (442A or 309D) preferred.

  • Working experience with automated packaging machinery, robotic systems, and ovens is an asset.

  • Strong understanding of PLC systems, robotics, HMIs, and controls (Allen Bradley preferred).

  • Proficient in reading technical drawings, electrical schematics, and mechanical layouts.

  • Skilled in working with power transmission systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, welding, brazing, soldering, lubrication systems, servo motors, and electrical controls.

  • Capable of performing machining tasks such as using lathes, milling machines, and drill presses.

  • Rigging and hoisting experience is advantageous.

  • Flexibility to work on afternoon shifts, weekends, or holidays as required.
