Description:
The Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA) is offering an exciting opportunity for a skilled and proactive Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance and repair operations across treatment plants, recycled water facilities, and essential mechanical systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment, systems, and facilities operate with the highest levels of safety, reliability, and compliance with regulatory standards.
This leadership role involves supervising a team of mechanics and technicians, setting priorities for preventative and predictive maintenance, overseeing repairs, and ensuring seamless integration of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation work. Candidates should bring strong mechanical problem-solving expertise, team leadership experience, and the ability to optimize equipment performance in complex systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and coordinate maintenance activities for treatment plants, recycled water systems, and mechanical infrastructure.
Lead, guide, and motivate a team of maintenance staff while fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and high performance.
Develop and manage preventative and corrective maintenance schedules, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
Collaborate with departments and contractors to coordinate operational and maintenance needs.
Diagnose mechanical and system issues, assess risks, and implement cost-effective solutions that improve safety, efficiency, and compliance.
Ensure all work aligns with organizational goals, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
Education & Training Requirements:
High school diploma or GED equivalent, supplemented with college-level coursework in mechanical, electrical, marine, facilities, or chemical engineering, or related fields.
Three years of wastewater/water industry experience in operations and maintenance, with at least two years in a supervisory or lead role.
Advanced technical training in facilities/equipment maintenance is desirable.
Licenses & Certifications:
Valid Class "C" California Driver’s License.
Desirable certifications include:
Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT)
Lube Oil Analysis, Vibration Analysis, Infrared, Ultrasonic training or certification
Certified Reliability Leader (CRL)
CWEA Electrical/Instrumentation Technologist Grade 4
