What you’ll do
It’s safe to say, there’s no shortage of variety in what we do. Here are some key accountabilities of the role:

  • This position is primarily responsible for preparing financial plans, forecasts, and other analytics to support the logistics operations team. The role requires provision of standard recommendations and actionable insights that inform decision making and reporting on all logistics finance activities in collaboration with other team members.
  • Responsible for data collection and modelling, creating & preparing various time-sensitive weekly/monthly/quarterly/yearly logistics-related financial reports (includes flash reports, quarter end packages, payment files, freight costs, spend reports, GL reconciliation) for presentation to and approval from senior management.
  • Ensures completeness & accuracy on assigned Logistics related month-end activities such as estimating accruals based on vendor statements and reconciliations
  • Executes ad-hoc reports and analysis, acting as a subject matter expert to identify cost saving opportunities and to mitigate business risks.

 

What you’ll need
To begin your career with us, we require the following:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g. Business or Economics)
  • Working towards a business-related designation (e.g. CPA, MBA or similar)
  • Minimum 2 to 4 years of Finance experience with exposure to financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and analysis to support Logistics and/or Supply Chain
  • Ability to apply GAAP accounting principles to contribute to tactical initiatives in support of the operations team with guidance from Senior Management
  • Proven analytical & problem solving skills, including analysis of information and research skills
  • Advanced computer skills; including word processing, spreadsheets (advanced Excel) and email; knowledge of accounting software (i.e. Lawson), databases (i.e. TM1); and data manipulation tools (Monarch, Spyview, ACL).
