Lifeguard

Description:

Primary responsibilities are to monitor activities and ensure safety and enjoyment of patrons in and around the Vikes Athletics and Recreation McKinnon pool.

Under minimum supervision, the lifeguard:

• Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in or around the pool.
• Acts immediately and appropriately to ensure safety of patrons in the event of an emergency.
• Renders assistance to swimmers in distress; provides first aid as required; ensures adherence to pool policies.
• Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
• Supervises participants and maintains complete vigilance to minimize risks, and be ready to respond at all times
• Supervises activities, safety standards, and cleanliness of aquatic facilities.
• Responsible for the supervision of activities, safety standards, and cleanliness of aquatic facilities.
