Licensed Plumber

 

Description:

SickKids is seeking a Licensed Plumber to perform installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems within the Centre for Research and Learning Tower. The role involves working on potable water, medical gases, drainage systems, and other hospital infrastructure, ensuring systems operate safely and efficiently.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize all trade-related tools and procedures, including cutting openings for piping.

  • Install, repair, and replace pipes, fittings, and plumbing fixtures.

  • Maintain heating, potable water, special water, medical gases, suction, medical air, compressed air, and drainage systems.

  • Inspect, adjust, and verify equipment operates to specifications.

  • Participate in preventative maintenance programs.


Qualifications:

  • Graduate from a recognized plumbing apprentice program or equivalent education/experience.

  • Must hold a Certificate of Qualification.

  • Minimum 5 years of institutional or industrial plumbing experience, preferably in healthcare.

  • Strong knowledge of plumbing equipment.

  • Ability to work as part of a team with good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Fluent in English (verbal and written).

  • LEED/EBOM certification or training is an asset.

  • Steamfitter/Pipefitter experience is a plus.
