Description:
Point Click Care, a leading health tech company recognized for its innovation and strong workplace culture, is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its growing team. Reporting to the VP, Contracts & Legal, this role will focus on providing comprehensive legal support across a wide range of commercial and technology-related matters. The successful candidate will play a critical role in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements such as master services agreements, SaaS agreements, technology licensing, confidentiality agreements, data protection agreements, partnership contracts, subcontractor and supplier agreements, as well as statements of work.
The Legal Counsel will also advise on risk management, regulatory compliance, and business operations, balancing legal considerations with practical business needs. This role requires a lawyer who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities while delivering practical, business-minded solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial contracts and technology agreements.
Provide legal advice on new products, partnerships, and business operations.
Manage risk while supporting business objectives and growth.
Advise on Canadian and U.S. privacy and healthcare regulatory compliance (HIPAA, PHIPA, etc.).
Support legal process improvements and implementation of legal technology.
Partner with cross-functional teams including sales, product, and compliance.
Contribute to strategic initiatives involving AI, SaaS, and healthcare data.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
JD and active membership in an applicable law society or U.S. state bar.
3–5 years of experience in commercial legal practice or as in-house counsel.
Strong experience negotiating business transactions under tight deadlines.
Exceptional legal analysis, attention to detail, and business acumen.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to influence and build trust.
Ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives.
Strong organizational skills with adaptability in fast-moving environments.
Preferred Experience:
Legal experience in healthcare information technology or SaaS licensing.
Knowledge of Canadian and U.S. privacy and healthcare regulations.
Interest in process improvements, legal technology, and emerging AI applications.
Compensation & Benefits:
Base Salary: CAD 126000 – CAD 140000 annually (≈ CAD 10500 – CAD 11666 per month)
