Administrative Duties: Draft letters, coordinate meetings, process invoices and expenses, and handle general administrative tasks.
Client Interaction: Address client inquiries, follow up on requests, and maintain clear communication.
Document Preparation: Prepare initial drafts of routine legal documents using established templates, track changes, and revise as necessary.
File Management: Organize and maintain both physical and electronic files to ensure they are up-to-date.
Scheduling & Travel: Coordinate appointments, meetings, travel arrangements, and meeting room bookings.
Team Coordination: Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of documents and materials to meet client needs.
Additional Tasks: Assist with various projects and duties as assigned by the legal team.
Education: Completion of a post-secondary Legal Assistant or Law Clerk course.
Experience: At least 3+ years of relevant work experience in one or more areas of law (corporate, tax, commercial litigation, etc.).
Legal Knowledge: Strong understanding of business and legal terminology.
Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of accounting and docketing systems (e.g., Elite and iManage) is an asset.
Organizational Skills: Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational and follow-up skills. Ability to proofread documents and ensure accuracy.
Problem Solving: Must demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Grammatical Skills: Strong grammatical skills, including attention to punctuation, proofreading, and document accuracy.
