Verdon Armanda Gauthier, Avocats is located in the heart of Old Quebec. The firm is seeking a Legal Assistant with an interest in family and personal law who wants to thrive in a passionate and dynamic team.

Job Description:
The Legal Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the daily activities of the lawyers, managing client files, and working closely with clients. The role involves assisting in document preparation, managing deadlines, and maintaining client communication.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, revise, and format various legal documents (procedures, sworn statements, agreements, correspondence, etc.)

  • Manage client files and deadlines (court dates, procedural protocols, prescription periods, etc.)

  • Handle administrative management of files (opening, filing, archiving) following established principles for managing documents and legal procedures

  • Communicate with clients, courts, and other parties involved with professionalism and discretion (appointments, meetings, conferences)

  • Prepare invoices and follow up on client accounts

  • Provide general administrative support to the lawyers on the team

  • Transcribe digital dictations

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of AliForm and Maître software would be an asset

  • Fluent in both spoken and written French

  • Strong communication skills

  • Autonomy, organizational skills, and discretion

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple files simultaneously
