Description:
Aird & Berlis LLP, a prominent Canadian business law firm, is seeking a Leasing Law Clerk to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for lease law. This role requires experience in commercial leasing and the ability to manage lease due diligence projects effectively.
✔ Review and amend commercial lease documents, including leases, subleases, offers to lease, and amendments
✔ Coordinate and manage lease due diligence projects
✔ Prepare and/or register notices of lease, short forms of lease, and lease-related title documents
✔ Handle commercial lease negotiations from start to finish under the supervision of a lawyer
✔ Ensure the highest quality of work and maintain confidentiality
✔ Manage multiple priorities in a time-sensitive environment
✔ Minimum 5 years of experience as a Leasing Law Clerk
✔ Completion of a post-secondary legal assistant or law clerk program
✔ ILCO certification (or willingness to obtain it)
✔ Knowledge of Title-related matters and sub-searches (preferred)
✔ Experience working in a law firm environment (preferred)
✔ Ability to manage multiple demands under pressure
✔ Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and legal applications
✔ Experience with Workshare Compare or similar document comparison tools
✔ Knowledge of Teraview
✔ Strong verbal and written communication skills
✔ Excellent problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making abilities
✔ Highly organized, detail-oriented, and resourceful
