This is a high-impact role ideal for an experienced machine learning professional passionate about blockchain, automation, and advanced AI technologies. The position involves developing intelligent systems that leverage large language models (LLMs), deep learning, and complex data pipelines, including blockchain data, to solve real-world challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• AI Model Development: Research, design, and deploy advanced ML models (LLMs, GNNs, Deep Learning, Gradient Boosting, etc.) to drive core automation initiatives.

• System Architecture: Build scalable and secure systems using state-of-the-art AI/ML frameworks and best engineering practices.

• Project Execution: Manage priorities, deliverables, and timelines to ensure high-quality outcomes.

• Code Development: Write robust, well-tested Python code addressing critical product and business needs.

• Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior engineers, promoting design best practices and effective AI tool adoption.

• Innovation & Optimization: Continuously identify opportunities to improve system performance, scalability, and reliability.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with AI Platform, Product, and Infrastructure teams to align solutions with Coinbase’s mission and technical standards.

• Ethical AI Practice: Ensure compliance with responsible AI frameworks and maintain model interpretability and fairness.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Mining, Statistics, or related field (preferred but not mandatory).

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in machine learning and software engineering.

• Proven expertise in designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production-level ML systems.

• Hands-on experience with data processing, analytics, and model deployment.

• Proficiency with Python and familiarity with frameworks such as Apache Airflow, Spark, Flink, Kafka/Kinesis, Snowflake, or Databricks.

• Strong foundation in data mining, NLP, advanced statistics, information retrieval, or computer vision.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong passion for building an open, decentralized, and globally connected financial system.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Generative AI frameworks and advanced ML platforms.

• Knowledge of model explainability and ethical AI design.

• Expertise in data visualization and analytical insights.

• Demonstrated ability to drive strategic AI initiatives in fast-paced environments.

Salary and Benefits:

• Annual Salary: $191,100 USD (approx. $15,925/month)

• Additional Compensation: Eligible for target bonus, stock options, and comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
