Leadership Giving Officer

Queen’s Student Alumni Association is seeking a Leadership Giving Officer to contribute to its fundraising and philanthropic advancement efforts. This is a strategic and relationship-driven role focused on managing a diverse portfolio of donor relationships, including individuals, corporations, foundations, and private-sector businesses.

The incumbent will report to the Interim Director, Individual Giving and will be tasked with developing, executing, and evaluating leadership gift fundraising initiatives for university-wide priorities. As a central fundraising professional, the Leadership Giving Officer will help drive financial support aligned with Queen’s institutional goals through proactive engagement and stewardship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, evaluate, and implement strategies for donor engagement and long-term relationship building.

  • Manage communications and outreach plans for different donor groups.

  • Solicit major gifts and contributions while articulating Queen’s strategic objectives.

  • Draft compelling donor proposals, impact reports, and case statements to support fundraising efforts.

  • Collaborate with advancement teams across various faculties and university departments.

  • Maintain accurate and timely records of donor and fundraising activities using the development database.

  • Organize volunteer fundraising committees and support donor recognition initiatives.

  • Develop fundraising content across multiple platforms including email, print, and web.

  • Participate in strategic planning and performance reporting activities related to fundraising.

  • Travel and variable working hours including evenings and weekends are required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).

  • 3–5 years of professional experience in relationship management, fundraising, or advancement.

  • Experience with fundraising strategies, donor lifecycle management, and philanthropic trends.

  • G-Class driver’s license and valid passport with no travel restrictions.

  • Criminal background clearance.

  • CFRE certification (considered an asset).

  • Experience in data analysis, donor trends, and equity-focused engagement strategies is a plus.
