Lead Business Analyst

Description:

OpenText, a global leader in information management and digital transformation, is seeking a Lead Business Analyst – Vendor Management to join its Digital Organization Business Operations Team in Waterloo, Ontario. This role focuses on overseeing strategic digital vendor management initiatives, optimizing vendor relationships, and ensuring alignment with business goals to drive measurable results.

As part of the Digital Supplier Management team, you will play a crucial role in reviewing digital vendor spend, understanding contractual, commercial, and operational relationships, and ensuring commitments are met. This position involves collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders including Cloud Services, Network & Infrastructure Operations, IT, Global Security, Sourcing, and Finance to identify opportunities such as cost reduction, risk mitigation, contract consolidation, and value enhancement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and run a standardized strategic vendor management program that aligns with organizational objectives.

• Develop structured frameworks for vendor performance management to ensure consistency across the vendor portfolio.

• Analyze digital vendor spend by category, cost center, region, and vendor.

• Classify, rationalize, and optimize the vendor portfolio focusing on strategic partnerships.

• Establish vendor performance metrics, scorecards, dashboards, and satisfaction surveys for both internal and external feedback.

• Define contractual performance levels and assist in setting customer expectations.

• Drive innovation and continuous improvement by holding strategic vendors to higher standards.

• Maintain tools for vendor tracking, analytics, and performance evaluation.

• Provide detailed reports and insights to stakeholders regarding vendor performance, risk, and relationships.

• Conduct market intelligence analysis on vendors, products, offerings, and competitors.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, IT, computer science, or a related field.

• 5–8 years of experience in vendor management or related disciplines.

• Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.

• Proven ability to lead initiatives across multiple stakeholders and meet competing deadlines.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
