Lead Azure Devops Engineer

Description:

Raas Infotek is urgently hiring for a highly skilled Lead Azure DevOps Engineer for a contract role based in Downtown Toronto, ON (Hybrid). The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, optimizing, and securing Azure-based infrastructure while leading the development and enhancement of robust CI/CD pipelines to support enterprise-scale applications.

This position is ideal for a senior-level engineer with deep Azure knowledge, strong automation and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) capabilities, and hands-on experience in DevOps leadership, cloud migration, and containerized deployment environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure & CI/CD Development:

• Design and deploy Azure infrastructure using Terraform or ARM templates.

• Build, manage, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.

• Automate deployments and repetitive operational tasks to improve DevOps velocity.

Security & Compliance:

• Implement cloud security best practices across all Azure services.

• Establish and enforce compliance and governance frameworks.

Monitoring & Observability:

• Monitor infrastructure using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Prometheus, Grafana, and Alertmanager.

• Integrate observability tools to detect and resolve performance issues proactively.

Collaboration & Integration:

• Collaborate with developers for code integration and smooth deployment processes.

• Align deployment roadmaps with internal and external technical teams.

Automation & Scripting:

• Create powerful automation using PowerShell, Bash, or Ansible.

• Embed automated testing tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress in the pipeline.

Cloud & Containerization:

• Manage Dockerized applications and orchestrate them using Kubernetes (K8s/K3s).

• Enable hybrid cloud setups and support edge-to-cloud integrations.

Mandatory Skills & Tools:

• Azure, Azure DevOps

• PowerShell, Bash, Ansible

• CI/CD tools, observability platforms

• SaaS, PaaS, IaaS environments

• Strong cloud migration and application modernization experience

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

• Minimum 5 years of DevOps experience, with at least 2 years on Azure.

• Proven ability to manage cloud infrastructure and DevOps pipelines at scale.

• Strong scripting and automation background.

• Exceptional problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Preferred Certifications (not mandatory but highly desirable):

• AZ-400: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert

• AZ-104: Azure Administrator Associate

• DP-203: Azure Data Engineer Associate

• AI-102: Azure AI Engineer Associate

Additional Competencies:

• Hands-on experience in ServiceNow for ITSM processes.

• Comprehensive understanding of on-prem to cloud migration strategies.

• Solid knowledge of release and lifecycle management practices for enterprise applications.
