Junior Purchaser

Trueman Distribution Ltd., is a leading distributor of wholesale pet products in Western Canada. Family owned and operated since 1995.

Trueman Distribution is seeking a Junior Purchaser to support the company's continued growth.

Main Responsibilities

• Prepare and issue purchase orders and review paperwork for accuracy.
• Manage inventory levels and ensure timely delivery of products.
• Inventory control. Monitor and maintain stock levels to achieve company goals.
• Assortment Planning. Facilitate the identification of potential vendors.
• Collaborate and communicate with other departments.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
• Maintain confidentiality with company and customer information.

Report to Purchasing Manager, VP of Sales, Procurement & Marketing and President.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a warehouse environment.
• Minimum 2 years Buying or Category Management experience.
• Post-secondary education such as Business Administration, Supply Chain Management.
• Experience in pet food industry or semi-perishable product industry an asset.
• Ability to multitask and excellent time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
• Advance proficiency with MS Office 365.
• Working knowledge of Sage 300 or other similar ERP is an asset.
