Junior Project Management Consultant

 

Description:

  • Oversee the design and construction of office/common area alternations and repairs providing contract administration and ensuring adherence to restoration/conservation principals, policies and procedures
  • Work in a collaborative team environment, to provide advisory services to clients and maintenance staff to establish and clarify project scope, objectives and terms of reference
  • Co-ordinate the development of project implementation plans and critical target dates
  • Coordinate internal and external resources to develop and prepare detailed scopes of work for request for proposals and request for tenders for consultants/ contractors, and review and evaluate proposals
  • Provide or oversee contract administration for building construction projects and ensures adherence to restoration/conservation principles, policies and procedures
  • Coordinate the process for acquiring suitable contractors
  • Coordinate external and internal resources for development of a detailed program of requirements, including preparation of budget, schedule and cash flow forecasts

How You Qualify

You demonstrate excellence through your:

  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree or college diploma in a related field such as Architecture, Engineering or Interior design; to manage projects and prepare and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of related work experience
  • Specialized subject knowledge of heritage and restoration procedures/requirements an asset.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD. Working knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Legislative policies and procedures to support authoritative decision making and facilitate compliance to necessary Acts and Building Codes
  • Understanding of Project Management theory, principles and techniques.
  • Knowledge of construction industry and building design to interpret construction documents in a heritage building
  • Understanding of design and construction legal practices and principals as related to owner, consultant and contractor relationships in order to mitigate liability/litigation issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills when dealing with clients, consultants and contractors.
