Junior Information Technology Technician

Description:

Located at North Slave Campus in Yellowknife, the Junior Information Technology Technician (Jr. IT Tech) reports to the Information Technology Analyst, and supports Aurora College students by providing tier 1 help desk support by answering questions and training related to information systems, student and staff accounts and network infrastructure access. This position requires the incumbent to provide rapid response support college-wide, including all three campuses, 21 community learning centres, and students learning remotely.

In performing the responsibilities, the incumbent interacts professionally with the students and staff, and is fully aware of the need to create a positive working relationship in providing high-level help desk support. The Jr. IT Tech works closely with other IT Technicians and IT Analysts to escalate incidents and resolve technical issues. As the first point of contact, the services provided by this position are critical for the students and staff in delivering the programs and services provided by all departments within the college.
