Role Responsibilities

The Software Delivery Branch is looking for a Junior Full Stack Developer. This position will report to the Director of Software Development.

The responsibilities for this role include:

  • Supporting the product team in both front end and back end software development as part of a multidisciplinary product team.
  • Employing a human-centred design and agile approach to improve services and deliver products.
  • Collaborating with agile teams and stakeholders to understand user needs, leading solution development, and participating in project activities.
  • Working as the sole developer on a product team or with other intermediate and senior developers, depending on the nature of the product being developed.
  • Facilitating high-quality and rapid delivery through automation in CI/CD pipelines.
  • Providing technical, support, and recommendations as it relates to software development.
  • Engaging with a wide variety of both internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications

A related two-year diploma in computer science or a related discipline from a recognized post-secondary institution; or equivalent as described.

Requirements:

  • Experience in developing web applications using current technologies such as single-page application frameworks.
  • Skill and ability to work with open-source ecosystems such as but not limited to: Node.js/NPM, PHP, Java, JavaScript, Angular, MySQL, MongoDB, Drupal, Twig, and Elasticsearch.
  • Experience with database technologies, including relational databases and alternatives.
  • Experience with developing on cloud platforms and utilizing cloud services in development and in solutions.
