Junior Engineers And Geoscientists

Description:

Junior Engineers and Geoscientists will participate in field and office-based work, supporting projects in mining, pipelines, transportation, energy, and community sectors. Work includes geotechnical investigation, assessment, design, and construction monitoring, as well as surface and groundwater assessments and geohazard evaluation. The role combines technical learning, mentorship, and exposure to remote fieldwork.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct field investigations: drilling, lab testing, geophysical surveys, instrumentation installation, and geohazard assessment.

• Perform office-based engineering and geoscience analysis, data interpretation, and reporting.

• Contribute to geotechnical, geohazard, and hydrotechnical assessments for various projects.

• Support foundation inspection, material placement oversight, slope stability analysis, and design conformance.

• Assist in preparing construction drawings, specifications, and documentation.

Qualifications:

• Enrolled in or recently graduated with an undergraduate degree in Civil/Geotechnical/Hydrotechnical/General Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geoscience, Geology, Geophysics, or related field.

• 0–5 years of relevant experience.

• Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

• Second language and/or postgraduate degree is an asset.

Assets / Additional Knowledge:

• Soil mechanics, rock mechanics, hydrogeology, hydrology, hydraulics, geochemistry, geomorphology.

• Technical writing experience.

Position Requirements:

• Drug & alcohol testing may be required.

• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a field pickup truck.

• Passport and ability to travel for field assignments; certain vaccinations may be required.
