It Support Specialist

 

Description:

We’re looking for a highly skilled and service-oriented On-site IT Support Specialist to serve as the primary hands-on IT support resource for staff, public-facing systems, and visitor technology environments, while also supporting a national workforce of approximately 400 employees.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
 

  • Act as on‑site IT support for the DUC head office
  • Provide Tier 1–2 support for computers, mobile devices, printers, phones, and A/V equipment
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
  • Coordinate with the Help Desk to resolve tickets
  • Support technology in public spaces and presentation areas at the Wetland Discovery Centre
  • Assist with setup and maintenance of displays, interactive systems, and A/V equipment
  • Support user accounts, onboarding/offboarding, and security administration
  • Work with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and device management tools
  • Assist with equipment procurement, deployment, tracking, and logistics
  • Support basic server, network, telecom, and conferencing systems
  • Maintain documentation and contribute to the IT knowledge base
  • Provide user training and promote good IT and security practices
     

Requirements
 

  • 3 years of experience in an IT support, deskside, or help desk role, or a combination of IT support and customer service experience
  • Relevant diploma or degree in information technology, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Experience supporting Windows and macOS environments
  • Experience supporting printers, mobile devices, audio-visual systems, and conferencing tools
  • Proficiency in remote and on-site troubleshooting of desktop and laptop systems
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and endpoint security tools
  • Ability to work comfortably in both office and public-facing environments
  • Occasional travel within Canada may be required
  • Additional hours may be required during critical project periods or organizational initiatives
  • Experience supporting public-facing or visitor environments is an asset
  • CompTIA A+ and or Network+ certifications are considered assets
