It Security Engineer

Raymond James Ltd., Canada's leading independent investment dealer, is seeking a skilled Engineer, IT Security to join its technology team. This full-time role, based in Vancouver, BC (with opportunities in Toronto as well), offers an exciting opportunity to protect and enhance the organization’s cybersecurity posture in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

The selected candidate will work hands-on in the integration, maintenance, and administration of enterprise security solutions. The role involves ownership of complex system and security issues, vulnerability remediation, security reviews, implementation of initiatives, and proactive threat identification. A successful candidate will exhibit strong problem-solving skills, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for defending against cyber adversaries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and resolve security/system issues

• Manage vulnerability remediation efforts

• Provide security consulting for projects and implementations

• Lead security project deployment and policy compliance

• Conduct security reviews and maintain system uptime and reliability

• Automate tasks to improve operational efficiency

• Troubleshoot issues, analyze logs, and perform root cause analyses

• Maintain documentation of security policy configurations and system performance

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, MIS, or related field with 5+ years of InfoSec experience

• Professional certifications preferred: CISSP, GIAC, OCSP, OSCE, etc.

• Strong knowledge of:

  • Firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, WAFs

  • Endpoint protection, EDR, HIDS

  • Email security, anti-spam solutions

  • MDM/EMM, SIEM, PKI, DLP, IAM/SSO

  • Web app security (OWASP, SDLC), cloud security (O365, Azure, AWS, GCP)

  • Networking protocols, Microsoft AD/GPO, Linux, scripting/automation

• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally

Compensation & Benefits:

• Base salary: CAD 120000 to 140000 per year (CAD 10000 to 11666 monthly)
