Description:

SickKids Foundation is seeking a motivated Co-op Student for its Infrastructure & Support Services team for a 4-month full-time placement beginning in September 2025. This unpaid co-op position is a critical opportunity for a student currently enrolled in a related program and requiring a co-op term for graduation. The selected individual will be responsible for supporting IT infrastructure operations across the Foundation and delivering excellent technical support to internal staff.

As Canada’s largest charitable funder of child health research, learning, and care, SickKids Foundation raised over $200 million in 2023 alone. The organization supports the SickKids Hospital and broader national and international child health initiatives. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and maintain IT systems including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and networking hardware

  • Provide first-level technical support and troubleshooting for hardware and software issues

  • Repair and maintain system hardware

  • Manage user permissions in Active Directory and Office 365

  • Document, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents through the ticketing system (JIRA)

  • Assist in infrastructure and enterprise architecture projects

  • Provide backup technical support for the Technical Support Team

  • Onboard new employees with system access, devices, and software

  • Train staff on using IT resources, including Office 365, shared drives, and databases

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a university or college program in Computer Science, IT, or Systems Administration that includes a co-op component

  • Strong customer service orientation with excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficiency in Windows 10/11 and Microsoft Office

  • Familiarity with PC hardware troubleshooting and network issue resolution

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

  • Effective time management, multitasking, and organizational abilities

  • Ability to adapt to fast-paced and changing work environments

Work Conditions:

  • 35-hour work week

  • Hybrid work model: Onsite Tuesday to Thursday, remote Monday and Friday
