Flynn Group of Companies — North America’s leading building envelope contractor — is seeking an IT Communications and Training Specialist for a 12-month contract based in Mississauga, ON. This position offers an exciting opportunity to use creativity and training expertise to enhance organizational IT communication and user adoption initiatives.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing communication and training strategies to help employees effectively understand and utilize IT systems, software, and digital tools. You will collaborate with multiple business departments to support system onboarding, training rollout, and communication strategies for IT projects. The position also involves developing quick reference materials, tutorials, and guides that ensure seamless adaptation to new tools, updates, and features.

This is a maternity leave contract within Flynn’s IT department, offering an excellent opportunity for professional growth and hands-on experience working closely with the Learning & Development team and IT leadership to deliver organization-wide training and communication programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies for IT projects, initiatives, and system updates.

• Create, update, and maintain detailed documentation for IT processes, procedures, and policies.

• Conduct training needs analyses and design effective instructional programs, including lesson plans, visual aids, and user materials.

• Manage and execute IT learning initiatives, ensuring timelines and implementation goals are met.

• Develop and deliver training sessions for enterprise applications and custom in-house software solutions.

• Collaborate with internal Learning & Development, HR, and IT teams to ensure consistency and alignment of communication strategies.

• Support onboarding and integration of new employees by delivering personalized and engaging training sessions.

• Partner with key stakeholders to identify learning gaps and implement targeted training solutions.

• Participate in change management efforts for new technology deployments, ensuring smooth transitions and employee adoption.

• Produce visually appealing and informative instructional materials such as tutorials, user guides, and job aids.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

• Proven experience in IT communications, IT training, or related roles.

• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.), Camtasia, Articulate, or other eLearning development tools.

• Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) is an advantage.

• Technologically adept with strong analytical and instructional design abilities.

• Excellent organization, presentation, and customer service skills.
