Description:
We have an opportunity for an Investment Assistant to join our award-winning firm in the Vancouver office. What You’ll Do The team comprises three experienced Portfolio Managers, an Investment Associate, two Investment Assistants and a Financial Planner. They focus on conservative, long-term investing under a discretionary managed-account format, with approximately $1 billion in assets under management.
Responsibilities Portfolio and Administrative Support
- Process transactions such as wires, EFTs, contributions, withdrawals, and transfers in a timely manner
- Facilitate account opening
- Prepare investment performance reports and quarterly reports
- Document transactions and client communications and ensure regulatory compliance
Client Support and Relationship Management
- Collaborate with the Portfolio Manager and client service teams to deliver a seamless client experience and contribute to internal improvements
- Respond to client calls and emails, resolve inquiries regarding account activity and performance, maintain documentation, and escalate issues as needed
- Maintain accurate client records and ensure compliance with KYC/AML regulations
- Execute mutual fund, equity and fixed income trades
- Schedule and prepare materials for client meetings, including portfolio reviews and investment proposals

- Product Knowledge – Maintain and deepen knowledge of company products, services and/or applications in order to align features, benefits, and uses to client or stakeholder needs
- Regulatory Knowledge – Understand and apply relevant laws, regulations, and standards to meet legal and ethical requirements and reduce risk for clients and the organization
Knowledge And Experience
- Meet CIRO’s educational and experience requirements to meet the qualifications necessary to be approved as an Investment Representative*
- Minimum 3-5 years’ Investment Industry experience
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Exceptional verbal communication skills
- Strong writing skills with the ability to create clear, engaging, and professional content
- Knowledge of Broadridge’s Dataphile and/or Salesforce is an asset
- Articulate, tactful and confident interacting with clients
- Exceptional attention to detail and skilled at working efficiently and accurately
- A team player with a proven record of building trusting and productive relationships
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Disciplined, driven and operates with a high level of accountability
- Social media experience is an asset
