Investment And Financial Officer

Azmer Inc. is a privately held investment company with a diverse portfolio, including public securities, industrial real estate, and an online legal company (LawDepot.com). Reporting directly to the CEO, the Investment and Financial Officer will oversee the company's investment strategy and financial operations. This role includes managing investment portfolios, leading financial modeling, conducting due diligence, and driving growth initiatives. The position offers the flexibility of working from Edmonton or remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute the company’s investment strategy to support long-term growth and value creation.

• Identify high-impact investment opportunities, including equity investments, capital allocation, real estate acquisitions, and strategic digital growth.

• Lead and mentor a high-performing team of financial analysts, accountants, and business professionals.

• Design and execute advanced financial models, reporting, and analytics to inform strategic decisions.

• Conduct investment due diligence and valuation assessments.

• Develop efficient, scalable investment and financial processes.

• Oversee portfolio performance analytics, optimizing asset performance and capital allocation.

• Collaborate with Legal to structure deals, ensure compliance, and execute agreements.

• Work with Human Resources on organizational design and recruitment.

• Establish performance standards and manage progress to ensure targets are met.

• Maintain relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders.

• Monitor market trends, economic conditions, and regulatory changes to identify emerging risks and opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education in Finance, Business, Data Analysis, Accounting, or related fields.

• 10+ years of experience in investment management, financial planning, and analysis.

• Proven success in managing complex investment portfolios with strong returns.

• Expertise in financial analysis, business valuation, KPI measurement, and statistics.

• Strong proficiency in financial modeling, advanced analytics, and data tools.

• Ability to leverage AI, analytics software, SQL, and programming tools for data analysis.

• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

• Strong leadership and team development capabilities.

• Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented.
