Description:

Carrier Sekani Family Services (CSFS), an innovative and culturally rooted leader in Indigenous health and family support services, is seeking a dedicated Internal Communications Officer to join its team in Prince George, BC. Operating with over 475 employees across 11 member Nations, CSFS centers culture in all its programs and services, creating meaningful change in Northern British Columbia communities.

As the Internal Communications Officer, you will lead and execute strategic communication initiatives to enhance internal engagement, executive messaging, and organizational alignment. Your role is vital in connecting staff to CSFS's mission through clear, consistent, and culturally grounded internal communications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategic internal and executive communications aligned with CSFS's mission and goals

• Collaborate cross-functionally with departments like HR, IT, Finance, and Innovation to deliver communication campaigns

• Craft a wide array of communications, including announcements, CEO/COO messages, internal blogs, press releases, and presentations

• Conduct surveys, focus groups, and literature reviews to measure communication effectiveness and gather feedback

• Lead planning and execution of live internal communication events

• Ensure communications reflect CSFS’s values and commitment to Indigenous knowledge, inclusivity, and service excellence

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in professional communications

• Experience in healthcare, child and family services, not-for-profit, or government sectors is considered an asset

• Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to translate complex information into accessible formats

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments and with leadership

• Understanding of Indigenous culture and a commitment to reconciliation and culturally safe communication
