Description:
Seeking an Intermediate Software Developer responsible for designing, developing, integrating, testing, supporting, and maintaining business software applications. The position requires a mix of application development, production support, incident management, and legacy system maintenance.
Responsibilities & Deliverables:
- Design, develop, integrate, test, transition to production, and maintain software applications
- Participate in project planning
- Provide input into the evolution of the software development environment and methods
- Provide ongoing daily production support and remediation of business applications
- Be part of a queue rotation for monitoring incidents
- Contribute to the elimination of problems through permanent fixes, including the identification of solutions, scoping the work, and executing the changes
- Task management for themselves as well as assisting other team members
- Complete scheduled maintenance, legislative changes, and changes required to optimize and streamline the existing application inventory (both purchased and internally developed applications)
- Troubleshoot application problems and maintain an inventory of expertise for identified problems
- Complete development assignments as assigned through your team leader and negotiated with project teams
- Liaise and provide consulting support for applications to project teams
- Occasional after-hours and weekend work may be required
Qualifications and Key Skillset for this Role:
- Degree/diploma in related discipline (computer science) or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Hands-on Experience in application development environment languages and tools: VB6, VB.NET, C#, MS Access, .NET Framework, SQL Server, Sybase, Control M, Remedy, ServiceNow, Git/Bit Bucket.
- Experience as part of a queue rotation, handling calls, working with incident-based software (Remedy or ServiceNow), troubleshooting issues
- Customer Service experience
- Software design methodologies and documentation tools
- Software requirements analysis and design principles
- Quality assurance tasks, testing server and desktop applications
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team, plan and organize your own work, communicate effectively in writing and verbally in person or remotely, initiative, team-oriented leadership skills, and attention to detail
