Description:
iN STUDIO is seeking an Intermediate Interior Designer to join their growing creative team. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside talented individuals contributing to high-quality interior design projects. The candidate will support production, review, and coordination of design activities, construction documentation, and contract administration, gaining proficiency in various interior design facets. The role involves working closely with senior designers, clients, vendors, and sub-consultants to ensure innovative and compliant design solutions.
Responsibilities:
Produce, review, and coordinate design and construction documents using AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp.
Take ownership of Contract Administration duties.
Independently manage daily tasks under Senior Interior Designer leadership.
Delegate and oversee tasks for Junior Designers when applicable.
Manage communications with internal and external project teams.
Communicate effectively with clients regarding daily project activities.
Support senior staff during client site visits and meetings.
Coordinate with vendors and engineering sub-consultants to meet regulatory building codes.
Manage completion of Permittable drawing sets and related dialogue with subconsultants.
Maintain detailed accuracy in drawings and design tasks.
Regularly update senior staff on work progress and deliverables.
Represent iN Studio at industry and non-industry events.
Actively participate in firm activities.
Successfully completed NCIDQ examination.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, M. Arch/ID.
5+ years of professional experience in a design firm.
NCIDQ and ARIDO (registered or candidate).
LEED Certification is an asset.
Proven experience in Corporate Workplace design including renovations, new construction, and contract administration.
Expertise in test-fits and space planning.
Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suites, and Microsoft Office.
Strong knowledge of Canadian codes, regulations, and Ontario Building Code (OBC).
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Passionate, creative, and innovative approach to design.
Excellent presentation and communication skills.
