MILL ELECTRICAL & INSTRUMENTATION SUPERVISOR Eagle River Mine, ON (Mine Site) Company Information Wesdome is a Canadian-focused gold producer with two high-grade underground assets, the Eagle River mine in Ontario and the Kiena mine in Québec. About The Opportunity This role is responsible for leading the Mill Electricians’ daily activities while ensuring full compliance with all health, safety, and environmental standards. Key duties include overseeing repairs and preventive maintenance in line with established procedures, executing maintenance directives from the Electrical & Instrumentation Superintendent, and planning work in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.

Position Responsibilities, Accountabilities And Job Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of mill electrical personnel that meet the mill plan and set goals for self and others to achieve this objective.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and electrical codes and standards (e.g., OEC, CSA M421).
  • Provide on-going coaching, feedback, and development suggestions to improve individual performance, while promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee preventative maintenance and repairs.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, maintenance, and safety reports.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to support production goals.
  • Participate in audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations as required.
  • Responsible for creating work orders and updating backlog items.
  • Participate in managing operating costs to plan within the electrical department.
  • Provide timely, accurate and well-communicated shift reports and summaries for cross-shift and turnaround needs.
  • Work collaboratively with others to achieve organizational goals – both within own department and cross-departmentally.
  • Participate in maintenance and reliability improvement projects.
  • Be highly effective in motivation, organization and decision-making.
  • Minimize equipment downtime to ensure optimum overall equipment effectiveness through proactive maintenance practices
  • Troubleshoot and maintain mill electrical systems, including power distribution, PLCs, VFDs, motors, etc..

Qualifications And Experience

  • Red Seal Inter-Provincial Electrical Trade certification (Industrial or Construction and Maintenance) with a Technologist diploma in electrical would be an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a mill/plant production environment including operating/maintenance experience, with 3 or more years of supervisory experience.
  • Will understand and be familiar with the Canadian Electrical Codes as well as be familiar with the Ontario Electrical Code and the CSA M421-00 codes as pertaining to underground mining.
  • Ability to perform in a self-directed, fast paced, team environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, a strong commitment to working in a safe, socially responsible manner. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is required.
