Description:
College of the North Atlantic (CNA) is seeking a Part-Time Instructor for its Early Childhood Education Certificate Program, to deliver online asynchronous courses. This hybrid role is based at the Prince Philip Drive Campus in St. John’s, NL, with some flexibility for remote work within the province. The successful candidate will contribute to a high-quality, student-centered learning environment while meeting all professional and programmatic standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and deliver assigned course material in an online asynchronous format.
Evaluate and assess student learning in alignment with course objectives.
Provide academic advising and support to students regarding their program progression.
Participate in accreditation reviews and maintain instructional materials and the online learning environment.
Perform other academic and professional responsibilities as required.
Screening Criteria:
Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a Bachelor’s Degree plus a two-year Early Childhood Education Diploma.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a licensed child care facility.
Assets: B.Ed. (Secondary/Post-Secondary), teaching experience at a post-secondary level, and eligibility for professional association membership.

In-depth knowledge of Early Childhood Education principles and current classroom/instructional practices.
Effective communication, critical thinking, time management, and organizational skills.
Ability to integrate teaching and learning technologies to support student engagement and learning outcomes.
Commitment to teaching excellence and a student-focused approach.
Ability to foster collaborative relationships with students and colleagues.
Conditions of Offer:
Certified Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Check (RCMP/RNC).
Current Level IV Child Care Services Certification from AECENL.
Active membership with the Association of Early Childhood Educators Newfoundland and Labrador (AECENL).
Credential verification and educational equivalency evaluation if obtained outside Canada.
Conditions of Acceptance:
Willingness to participate in continuous professional development, including certification for Post-Secondary Instructors.
Ongoing maintenance of professional licenses and memberships.
Flexibility in teaching assignments as required based on qualifications.
