Description:
Cogeco Connexion Inc., a leader in telecommunications and digital services, is seeking a Technicien installation-service to join its technical operations team in Fatima, QC. This role is central to delivering reliable installation, disconnection, relocation, and repair of cable television and Internet services for Cogeco’s customers.
The position involves direct interaction with clients, where professionalism, attentiveness, and proactive problem-solving are key to delivering a superior customer experience. The technician not only ensures proper installation and troubleshooting but also plays an important role in promoting Cogeco’s products and services to strengthen customer loyalty and satisfaction.
This is a hands-on technical role requiring strong knowledge of telecommunications systems, customer service skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with other technical staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Install necessary equipment to connect Cogeco’s distribution network to customer devices, ensuring proper functionality.
Perform installations, disconnections, relocations, and retrieval of customer equipment and replace service wires when needed.
Support customer retention by providing solutions to subscribers considering service cancellation or reduction.
Pre-wire and install access boxes in multi-unit dwellings.
Report maintenance or repair requirements of the distribution network to supervisors or the Network Management Center (CGR).
Diagnose and repair connection or branch system issues.
Conduct maintenance or repair work on installed equipment and accessories; replace defective multiple outlet plates when required.
Assist with the installation or relocation of main/distribution lines and related electronic components.
Occasionally support maintenance, repair, or commissioning work on infrastructure lines and components.
Complete work-related reports, forms, and documentation accurately.
Gather information for installation cost estimates.
Participate in training new employees when required.
Take on other duties as necessary that align with the role’s responsibilities.
Work Schedule:
Normal workweek: 37.5 hours.
Workdays: Sunday to Saturday (rotational).
Hours: Between 7:30 AM – 9:00 PM (Monday to Friday) and 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Saturday & Sunday).
Requirements:
DEC or AEC in electronics, telecommunications, IT, or related field; OR
DES + DEP in electronics, electricity, telecommunications equipment installation, or related field; OR
DES with at least 5 years of installation-service experience in telecommunications.
Strong technical knowledge and ability to adapt to new technology.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive hourly wage between CA$25.15 and CA$39.03 (depending on experience and qualifications).
