Description:
The vacant Infrastructure Engineering, Lead role will report to the Leader, RTR Operations. The Infrastructure Engineering, Lead will oversee both physical and virtual components of the organization’s IT landscape, including hardware, servers, networks, and software environments. They will also manage relationships with internal and third-party vendors/service providers, ensuring seamless integration, effective service delivery, and alignment with strategic objectives.
What You Will Do:
Collaborating with Architecture, Platform Engineering, and Dev-Sec-Ops teams to develop and execute a consistent, secure, and robust infrastructure and platform supporting all product lines and services.
Providing technical leadership for a robust solution design and ensuring design reflects best practices for scalability, availability, security, performance and cost efficiency.
Managing operating systems and system software for software currency and stability in platforms (i.e. RHEL, Windows, Ubuntu).
Overseeing monitoring and capacity management of all infrastructure and software platforms.
Ensuring high availability to meet the Service Level Agreements (SLA) and Service Level Objectives (SLO) of critical systems.
Managing vendor relationships to ensure services or products align with specified requirements. Ensuring vendor support commitments are met and that the provided support meets operational requirements.
Support the definition, evolution, and operational maturity of domain-specific services and offerings, contributing to service roadmaps and technical (operational) controls
Guide OpenShift cluster design (control‑plane sizing, worker pools, upgrade/patch cadence) and ingress/egress patterns across border/DMZ zones.
Define connectivity and segmentation for API ingress, messaging backbones, and data tiers; document blast‑radius limits and east‑west controls.
Aiding the implementation of automation for processes and procedures wherever feasible.
Reviewing, building, and maintaining technical documentation and operating manuals for physical and logical environments.
Ensuring the integrity of fundamental infrastructure operations (availability, monitoring, backup/recovery, capacity) to support Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Plans (BCP).
Quickly learning new technologies and taking ownership of new challenges and responsibilities.
Set DR strategy and test plans (site failover, partial region loss, failback), ensuring RPO/RTO objectives are consistently met.
Partner with Security on architecture decisions (identity, PAM, secrets, WAF) and with Program/Operations on acceptance criteria for go‑live.
Taking part in annual or biennial MSA and ISO audits related to information technology, including evidence gathering and reporting.
Contribute to improving resiliency, reliability, and maintainability of infrastructure platforms.
Assist with troubleshooting complex domain-specific infrastructure issues and support root cause analysis efforts.
Help ensure the quality, accuracy, and completeness of engineering documentation, runbooks, and operational readiness materials.
Provide guidance, coaching, and technical mentorship to members of the Platform and Infrastructure Engineering team to help strengthen overall team capability
What You Bring:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/IT and/or 8+ years of equivalent IT working experience.
Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity.

Experience managing vendor relationships, service, and support contracts.

7+ years of hands-on engineering experience within one or more infrastructure domains, consistent with the level of expertise expected in similar senior roles
Proven ability to deliver complex infrastructure projects in an enterprise environment.
Strong knowledge of infrastructure architecture patterns, security principles, and operational best practices.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (architecture, operations, security, product/platform engineering).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Experience contributing to infrastructure service roadmaps, standards, and engineering frameworks.
Familiarity with modern automation, observability, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
Demonstrated experience mentoring or developing technical talent.
Experience with Next Generation Firewalls (i.e., Palo Alto Networks).
Experience with Dell and Cisco switches and routers.
Knowledge of backup technologies (i.e., Veeam, PPDM/Data Domain).
Extensive experience with cloud solutions (i.e., Azure, Azure Stack Hub, AWS, GCP).
Knowledge of DevSecOps Tools (i.e., Jira, Confluence, GitHub, SonarQube, Artifactory); user management, site creation, project creation, and workflows.
Knowledge of scripting and automation using BASH, Perl, Python, PowerShell, , Terraform, and Ansible.
A curiosity and analytical thinking to solve technology, process, or procedural challenges in a team environment.
