Description:
The Manager, Information Systems leads the organization’s Information Management and Information Technology functions to ensure information systems are reliable, secure, and aligned with operational priorities. This role is responsible for information systems infrastructure, enterprise and clinical applications, information governance, data quality, reporting, and analytics.
Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and the organization’s Managed Service Provider (MSP), the Manager leads system optimization, information management, technology initiatives, and continuous improvement to support organizational decision-making and service delivery.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities
Systems Operations
Lead the day-to-day operation, performance, and maintenance of organizational information systems and IT infrastructure
Lead the operation and optimization of enterprise and clinical information systems.
Coordinate system implementations, upgrades, lifecycle maintenance, and operational support
Monitor system performance and resolve operational issues
Maintain business continuity, backup, and disaster recovery practices
Identify opportunities to optimize existing systems and improve operational efficiency
Information Management & Analytics
Improve system integration and interoperability across enterprise applications
Ensure information governance, data quality, privacy, security, and records management practices are maintained
Develop and enhance organizational reports, dashboards, and analytics
Support government, funder, and organizational reporting requirements
Identify opportunities to improve information accessibility, system automation, and business processes
Improve access to information to support operational and strategic decision-making
Leadership & Team Development
Provide leadership and direction to team members, establishing priorities and performance expectations
Foster collaboration, accountability, and a cohesive team environment
Coordinate workloads and resources to ensure effective service delivery
Provide coaching, mentorship, cross-training, and ongoing staff development
Provide technical leadership to support information systems operations and continuous improvement
Information Security & Compliance
Ensure organizational information is managed in accordance with privacy legislation and regulatory requirements
Support the development and implementation of information governance and privacy practices
Participate in data breach investigations and related activities as required
Vendor & Financial Management
Provide input into the development of the department’s operating and capital technology budgets, in collaboration with the Senior Director, Corporate Services.
Manage and monitor technology expenditures, contracts and resources, ensuring effective stewardship within approved budgets
Act as the primary organizational contact for the Managed Service Provider (MSP)
Build and maintain collaborative relationships with the Managed Service Provider (MSP) and technology vendors to support system improvements and service delivery
Monitor vendor performance and provide recommendations for continuous improvement
Communication & Collaboration
Communicate technology priorities, recommendations, and system changes with staff and leadership
Collaborate with departments to ensure systems support operational needs
Participate on internal and external committees and working groups as assigned
Other

Skills Required
Ability to provide direction and coordinate the day-to-day operation, optimization, and integration of information systems
Excellent collaboration and relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders
Effective supervisory, leadership, and change management skills
Strong understanding of information management, information governance, privacy, and data security
Ability to develop and utilize reporting, dashboards, and analytics to support decision-making
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Education/Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field
Experience Required
4–6 years of related Information Management or Information Technology experience, including supervisory or management-level experience
Experience supervising and leading teams responsible for information systems or related functions
Experience working in a unionized environment preferred
Experience within developmental services, the broader public sector, or not-for-profit organizations considered an asset
Effort Required
Sitting for prolonged periods in meetings or at a desk/computer
Day-to-day activities may lead to considerable stress
Lifting up to 40 lbs. (computers, servers, and other equipment)
Working Conditions
Valid G-class driver’s license and access to reliable transportation required
Flexible work hours may be required
Travel to other worksites or community locations may be required
