Job Description:

Vertiv is hiring an HVAC Field Service Technician (Frigoriste) for its Québec City region. This technician will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and emergency servicing of Liebert cooling systems and related equipment.

The technician must ensure strong customer relationships, maintain accurate documentation, and follow all safety and company compliance protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Tasks

• Perform on-site and remote support for Vertiv’s cooling systems.

• Execute installation, maintenance, commissioning, and troubleshooting.

• Apply Field Change Notices (FCNs) and technical updates.

• Stay up to date with safety bulletins and service advisories.

• Communicate effectively with Technical Support and regional offices.

Safety

• Adhere to all Vertiv safety guidelines and use appropriate PPE.

• Report workplace accidents or injuries within 24 hours.

• Follow the “14-hour rule” for work-hour policies.

Administration

• Submit accurate service documentation: timecards, mileage, expenses, and work orders.

• Maintain proper inventory and care for company property (vehicle, tools, laptop, etc.).

• Communicate estimated arrival times to customers and the Customer Response Center (CRC).

Customer Satisfaction

• Provide clear communication and excellent service to clients.

• Strive for “first-time fix” service success.

• Maintain high customer satisfaction ratings.

Performance & Productivity

• Complete all work efficiently and on schedule.

• Make sound technical and business decisions under pressure.

• Combine service opportunities to maximize productivity.

• Adhere to Vertiv’s escalation and start-up processes.

Qualifications:

Education / Licensing

• Frigoriste Compagnon License (Métier 418) or equivalent.

• 313A (4th-year Apprentice or Journeyman) certification preferred.

• Secondary diploma or trade school degree in HVAC or equivalent.

Experience

• 3–5 years of relevant commercial or industrial HVAC experience.

Technical Skills

• Strong electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics.

• Proficiency in brazing, diagnostics, and site assessment.

• Mechanical aptitude and computer literacy.

Personal Skills

• Reliable and professional.

• Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.

• Team-oriented with strong organizational and planning abilities.

Working Conditions:

• Travel required within Québec region.

• Flexible schedule (weekends, evenings, holidays as needed).

• Must have a valid driver’s license.

• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb, kneel, and work in various environments.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Base salary: $60,000–$90,000 CAD annually.
