We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Human Resources Assistant to join our team at our Canadian Head Office in Nisku, Alberta. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to build a career in Human Resources. In this position, you will collaborate closely with all members of the Human Resources team to support a variety of functions related to recruitment, project hiring, documentation management, and metrics and reporting.

Responsibilities
 

  • Maintaining and promoting a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and following all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identifying and communicating workplace hazards and correcting or seeking assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Providing first-level assistance to Michels employees for routine and general human resource questions and inquires.
  • Preparing general reports and information related to human resources activities as requested.
  • Supporting the creation, completion, and ongoing maintenance of employee files.
  • Managing sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of discretion and professionalism.
  • Preparing, standardizing, and maintaining human resources templates and forms, including but not limited to job postings, job descriptions, offer letters, employment letters, etc.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of applicable federal and provincial labour and employment legislation.
  • Assisting with the administration of employee benefits programs and related information.
  • Supporting the Recruitment and Project teams in preparing offer letters, coordinating peer reviews, and onboarding new hires to projects.
  • Upholding company culture and core values by adhering to Michels Canada's Standards and Policies and working with others to promote and preserve our values while conducting your duties to contribute to a positive and professional work environment.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
     

Requirements
 

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources.
  • Working towards HR certification (CPHR) an asset.
  • Minimum 2-years related experience and/or education.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; Viewpoint experience is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
  • Demonstrated time‑management skills.
  • Proven ability to deliver strong internal and external customer service.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with professionalism.
