Description:

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is seeking a Summer Worker to join its Human Resources department. This is a full-time temporary opportunity (April–August 2025) that provides hands-on experience in HR operations within a renowned biomedical research environment. The position offers a dynamic and supportive work setting focused on scientific discovery, innovation, and patient-centered healthcare research.

As an HR Summer Worker, you will contribute to essential administrative and operational activities, particularly the coordination and management of the Canada Summer Jobs program. You will also support broader HR Service Centre functions and assist with tasks ranging from employee file management to volunteer access requests and professional membership verification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage the Canada Summer Jobs governmental grant program, including submitting information to the portal, tracking projects, validating documents, and liaising with researchers and employees.

  • Support HR Service Centre operations, including employee file management and preparing work attestations.

  • Create and maintain electronic employee files.

  • Assist in managing volunteer access and related documentation.

  • Enter training data related to Law 90 into the payroll system.

  • Conduct annual work permit validation and professional membership checks.

  • Perform other administrative HR tasks as required.

Education & Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or Commerce.

  • Bilingual fluency in English and French (oral and written).

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

  • Excellent organizational skills, time and priority management.

  • Professionalism, autonomy, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellent customer service.

Working Conditions:

  • Status: Temporary Full-Time (35 hours/week), with potential part-time start.

  • Duration: 4 months (April to August 2025).

  • Work Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM.

  • Work Site: Primarily remote, with occasional presence required in the downtown Montreal office.
