Housing Coordinator

 

Description:

The primary responsibility of the Housing Coordinator is to coordinate and promote the housing services of the Foundation. The role includes managing human, material, and financial resources in line with the strategic directions of the Foundation.

Specific Tasks:

  • Report to the General Director and participate in the development of housing service objectives.

  • Plan, organize, and coordinate funding activities.

  • Ensure the maintenance and safety of various buildings.

  • Ensure the enforcement of leases and the security of premises.

  • Respond promptly to tenant complaints.

  • Follow up on maintenance and repair work.

  • Coordinate maintenance schedules with laborers.

  • Select tenants and form tenant consultation committees.

  • Hire, support, and supervise employees under your responsibility.

  • Propose and implement improvements to processes in your service.

  • Plan and manage preventive maintenance and inspections of the buildings.

  • Identify material needs and follow up on them.

  • Write reports and statistics as requested by management.

  • Evaluate existing services and implement improvement initiatives.

  • Participate in establishing the housing service budget and ensure sound budget management.

  • Lead and coordinate regular team meetings.

  • Hold regular follow-up and coaching meetings with your team.

  • Develop relationships to promote the Foundation's mission.

  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the General Director.

Requirements:

  • Education: Hold a bachelor's degree.

  • Experience: 3 years of relevant experience in the social housing sector.

  • Knowledge of community and volunteer organizations.

  • Familiarity with the health and social services network.

  • Demonstrate autonomy, initiative, and judgment.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent spoken and written French.

  • Good knowledge of real estate issues.

  • Knowledge of housing organizations such as APQ, SHQ, OMH, and FOHM.
