Hourly Prep Cook

Description:

Cineplex is seeking an Hourly Prep Cook to join The Rec Room Brentwood team. The Prep Cook will be responsible for preparing high-quality food in a timely, efficient, sanitary, and consistent manner while working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. This role requires teamwork, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to maintain high standards of organization and food quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare food items at pantry, fry, or other kitchen stations according to recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards

• Set up and maintain stations, follow “clean as you go” practices, and ensure proper sanitation

• Assist with cleaning, organization, and maintenance of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and storage areas

• Prepare meals for customers with food allergies or intolerances

• Utilize kitchen equipment safely and efficiently

• Follow all health and safety regulations including infection control, hazardous materials, and fire safety

• Open and close stations as required, adhering to daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules

• Demonstrate teamwork, flexibility, and a willingness to learn and fill open shifts as needed

• Report accidents, incidents, or policy infractions to management

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent

• Professional diploma or food services management preferred

• Minimum 1 year of cooking experience

• Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, food cost control, and presentation

• Ability to lift up to 50lb

• Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills

• Effective time management, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities

• Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, email)

• Positive work ethic and team attitude

Work Conditions:

• 100% standing, exposure to high temperatures, cold, heat, and water

• Manual dexterity required for knives and kitchen appliances

• Occasional transport of heavy items (up to 50lb)

• Extended hours as required
