Health Services Supervisor

 

Description:

The Region of Peel is seeking an experienced and dynamic Supervisor, Immunization Services – Clinical to lead and manage a multidisciplinary team dedicated to protecting the community from vaccine-preventable diseases. This role sits within the Health Services – Immunization Division, which provides integrated vaccination programs across Peel Region, including Mississauga, Brampton, and Caledon.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operational oversight, strategic planning, and continuous improvement of immunization programs in alignment with provincial public health standards. You will manage clinical operations, vaccine inventory, immunization records, and educational initiatives while ensuring quality service delivery and adherence to regulations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate public health programs under the Ontario Public Health Standards, focusing on Vaccine Preventable Diseases.

  • Ensure compliance with legislation, standards, and regulated health practices across multidisciplinary teams.

  • Provide leadership in developing team objectives, policies, and procedures to ensure high-quality public health service delivery.

  • Recruit, mentor, supervise, and evaluate clinical and non-clinical staff, fostering an inclusive and supportive work culture.

  • Manage program budgets, financial resources, and reporting for vaccine reimbursement and OHIP billing.

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including healthcare partners, schools, and community organizations, to optimize immunization service delivery.

  • Analyze performance indicators and service levels using continuous quality improvement (CQI) methods to enhance efficiency.

  • Oversee health data systems such as iPHIS, IRIS, BIOS, COVax/VAB, Panorama, CHR, JBS, and HRMS for accurate immunization data management.

  • Support emergency and outbreak responses, including after-hours management during public health emergencies.

  • Prepare and present program updates and reports to leadership teams and external partners.


Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BScN)

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in Public Health; prior supervisory experience in a public health or healthcare environment is an asset

  • Additional Assets:

    • Knowledge of public health mandates, population health, and applicable legislation

    • Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making abilities

    • Proficiency in managing change using frameworks like ADKAR

    • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and coaching skills

Work Mode:

Hybrid role requiring a minimum of two on-site days per week. Off-site work location must be within Ontario to comply with provincial regulations.
